EU’s future hydrogen grid takes shape after Parliament vote

The accident in Ohio shows us that one event can undo everything that even a big and powerful body like the Parliament wants to install with the stroke of a pen. The real world does not give a damn about the wishes of some totally disconnected people. Hydrogen is an incredibly dangerous substance. Do you remember physics class? That loud boom you got from the electrolysis experiment is just a tiny taster of what happens when a hydrogen pipe leaks. And we won’t be able to prevent this with smart legislation. Hydrogen permeates everything, even the BS of our political leaders.

In a vote on Thursday (9 February), the European Parliament's industry committee set out its position on future rules governing hydrogen networks in a bid to transition away from fossil gas.
