Germans face drastic price rises if EU bars Russian gas, E.ON Germany chief says
If only 2 months ago anyone would have hinted at shale gas being a possibility in Germany or my own home country Austria, one would have been declared insane. How fast things can change. There is a vivid shale gas debate in Germany now and even in Austria, I can see the first shoots of a debate coming out. This is not the silver bullet everyone is looking at but if it’s done in a sensible way shale could change the energy equation in the Old World very drastically. Let’s see if it’s more than just words.
