Global dash for gas could leave world awash with LNG

Does anyone remember the American LNG El Dorado? Yes, pre-shale North America was supposed to be an LNG heaven for producers. Then Fukushima, then the Chinese bubble, and now the Ukraine war. LNG has gone boom-bust several times over the last 15 years but one thing is constant – it has always grown and never gone back. Eventually, the world will have to leave the path of insanity and come back to what works. That might be closer than we think. Don’t expect the alarmists to slay the goose that laid golden eggs for them easily. But in the end, reality always wins.

The 2030 glut would either lock buyers into climate-damaging gas use, or else hit producers with sharp price declines.
