Grand Delusion: Why Battery Storage Can’t Fix Wind & Solar’s Intermittency Problem

Last year, a couple of bus depots with Electric Busses burnt to a crisp. Those were big battery fires because electric buses have rather big batteries. Just imagine such a grid storage array of even bigger batteries burns. Cannot be? Well, we had that with one such parc in Australia already. Imagine such a fire close to human habitation instead of the open wilderness as it was in Australia. Get ready for some monster fires in cities.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network.
