That’s what I always said. In the end, politicians care more about self-preservation than about virtue signaling. The activists took it up with the wrong allies. Those people had to prove many times that they didn’t even have a spectral image of a spine in their minds and they would turn around like a slime mold at the first sign of serious trouble for themselves. I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
