Energy poverty is a horrible affliction and we who live in our fist world comforts cannot even fathom how it is in countries where average people don’t even have electric light or running clean water. Renewable Energy makes energy even more unaffordable to those that most need it and thats the ultimate injustice. Wasting precious cash on virtue-signaling schemes is a crime and as such, it should be tackled.

In all the discussions about the developing world, about its poverty and its stuttering progress towards a developed future, it is all too easy to forget the ordinary people and their suffering.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
