Hate is bad – it consumes a person’s soul and heart and destroys the life of the hater far more than the one of the hated. One of the best endeavors in the life of everyone should be to banish hate from one’s soul for one’s own sake. That being said, hate exists and we cannot deny it. Even if many of us succeed in banning it from our souls, it still exists in the outside world. Hiding it does not make it go away. My own country Austria has very strict laws against Nazi activities. Does that mean we have no Nazis? Of course not. Better to see evil rather than let it fester in the dark. Besides, merely having a different opinion is not hate no matter how much anyone may try to label it so.
