Insurance Isn’t Insurance & Why It’s All So Crazy

Insurance is a disease. It promises a risk-free life when such a thing cannot exist. But even worse, it dulls our senses for evaluating every situation for what it’s really worth – to each one of us. Not every situation is the same for everyone. Some things are unacceptable to some of us while others are happy to dance with it. When I worked for a Trading company, I found our trader hedging everything. I once asked why don’t assess the situation if there was maybe money to be made. In fact, a lot of money remained on the table just because traders did not do what they were supposed to do. Make an educated guess. They found that too risky to try.

We did this years ago, but it’s time for a refresh for new readers. You make a bet with a bookie. You don’t want X to happen, where “X” can be anything you don’t like.…

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
