Japan’s nuclear restarts this year to hasten LNG import decline

Right after Fukushima, I predicted that the nuclear pause wouldn’t last long in Japan. Reality would come back quickly and remind the Japanese that just because a company and some managers completely disregarded the most fundamental safety rules, nuclear is not a bad choice at all. This makes the Japanese more rational than the Germans for example. Germany did not have its brain on when it decided to kick nuclear to the curb. And they are suffering now. I also predicted that Germany would reverse this decision before 2030 many years ago. I still feel good about this prediction.

Kansai Electric Power's plan next month to relaunch the last idle reactor at its flagship nuclear plant will mark an energy shift in Japan.
