Renewable operators have been feeding on free system overcapacity that was created in decades past. This overcapacity had a job – preventing catastrophic shutdowns of the grid in case of extraordinary circumstances. It was a freebie as long as it lasted. Now it’s more or less gone and people will start enjoying the effects of highly variable power input meeting highly variable power demand. Let’s see how people will enjoy the Blackdowns.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network.
