‘Mass exodus on a biblical scale’: UN warns New York, London, Shanghai to be impacted by rising sea levels

I have brought up the example many times and will do so again. According to Hansen, the New York West Side Highway should be underwater since 2006. Thats 17 years of a little more than wet feet in Manhattan. But if you go down to West Side Highway, you will not only see that it’s perfectly dry but also that there is a footway thats even a smidgen lower than the driveway and thats dry too. Take a look around Pier 25 and you will see that on average that the surface of the water is about one meter from the footway. Thats my guess – replace it with measured data if you like. My question now is – where the hell is this sea level rise?

The UN says an estimated 900 million people, or more than one in ten of the world's population, will be affected by rising sea levels around the world.
