New study provides maps, ice favorability index to companies looking to mine the moon

Mine the water, split it into hydrogen and oxygen, use the hydrogen for fuel. Compelling? It would be if storing hydrogen would not be such a damn difficult proposition. It won’t explode on the moon as there is no oxygen to react with but it embrittles everything it touches and to stay liquid you need really very low temperatures. But use some carbon and make methane with the Sabatier process and it’s all a charm. Easy to store, easy to use. And economical. What are we waiting for?
