Nigeria is the juggernaut in Subsaharan Africa for many reasons. One is that it is the most populous country by far on the entire continent and as such its labor force permeates the entire region. It’s the biggest market and the home base of many international companies on the continent. It has an educated workforce and many states have a can-do attitude – sort of – at least in terms of African standards. That being said, Africa is incredibly vast, only slightly smaller than Asia as a landmass. It’s still largely unexplored and there remains much to be found.
More than 100 oil and gas projects should commence operations in Nigeria during the next four years, accounting for more than 24% of the predicted total projects starts during that time, predicts GlobalData.
