Oil demand is beginning a slow, and fragile, recovery worldwide

Oil will get to 100 MMbbl/d again. maybe not in a year but it will eventually get there. Some economies will not only come back – they will thrive. I expect the US to become bigger and better as a result. Yes, I know. It does not look this way right now but I have also learned not to trust appearances. Its when they are cornered that Americans thrive. Its when the crap hits the fan that they are at their best. The new economy will require grit. Some countries will fail at this challenge – some will rise to new heights.

From the streets of San Antonio to Barcelona and Beijing, traffic data, sales at fuel stations, and pipeline flows all suggest that the slump in oil demand probably bottomed out around the middle of April,…

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
