Replacing Coal Power with Wind and Solar Increases Net CO2 Emissions

Coal did not need backup. It works on demand – when you need it. It’s self-sufficient. Wind and solar are not. They need a backup for when the weather gods don’t like us to be comfortable. This necessarily means that you need two systems side by side. The entire emissions for building and operating the backup system must necessarily be added to the emissions wind and solar cause in the first place. There is no way on Earth that a wind turbine or a solar panel can work this backpack of emissions off. Wind and solar are not only crushingly expensive, but they are also excessively dirty.
