The elites don’t like the average masses to do the very things they do so very much. I mean, what’s being a member of the elites worth if anyone enjoys the same freedoms? There should be visible differences and keeping people in tightly circumscribed regions is part of that. They can use virtual reality if they want to see the world and those virtual reality worlds can be optimized so that the cattle people don’t think too much. Europe has never been famous as an advocate for free markets, especially the French but this is pushing things to a very new level.
