The IEA’s Net Zero Pathway Is Economically Illiterate

Which means that it matches the outlook of the vast masses just fine. Most people are completely illiterate about economic realities. Most people in Austria can’t even read their own pay slips. They think that the employer’s contribution to the state budget is not part of their pay package. That’s not taxes to them. And I have a feeling that it’s getting worse. Most people learn when there is no other choice. When they run their own business and have to pay up they get interested in money. When I went to law school, I ran my own tourism business at the same time. My tax law professor told me that it shows that I have practical knowledge. Most don’t.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
