The US government should end its war on natural gas
It’s hard to understand for me that successive US governments have not jumped on the gas bounty and started gasifying the US economy. It would save a lot of money as oil use would go down and it would help to further clean the air. Especially smog-ridden cities in California would benefit a lot. And it would free up a lot of oil that either won’t have to be bought on international markets or can be sold at much higher prices than gas. Natural Gas could be the backbone for an industrial revolution of the Lower 48. And t still might be – low hanging fruit.
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission should return to its original mission and remain fuel neutral in its rulemaking.
