Uniper wins contract to build gas-fired power plant in Germany

Dastardly cowards – that’s what Germans are. I mean we are being clobbered by news that renewables are so cheap and so reliable so what’s the ruckus? It would be much better to let Germans experience the wonders of renewable electricity production by giving them a taste of the brownouts and blackouts that come with it. Or maybe a battery that provides peak power and the price tag that comes with it. People only learn through pain. Renewable enthusiasts talk a big game, but their hearts are tiny when it comes to reality.

Uniper is building a gas-fired power plant in Germany, the country’s first in a decade, to act as a “safety cushion” as energy grids face growing pressure to cope with the rise of intermittent, renewable sources.
