US Energy Independence Fuels Persian Gulf Insecurity

I was wondering when that would come around. China is the biggest customer of Middle Eastern oil exporters today. rouble there also means that China’s supply lines suffer. Besides, the Middle East will increasingly become a competitor to US energy exports. Keeping the region from imploding costs a lot of money. It makes sense to let those that benefit from such action pay the tab. But China may be unwilling to secure the region itself as its armed forces are not used to this kind of work. It’s messy, one gets criticized by everyone. People die. I understand that they want to leave it to the US. Maybe Russia for a buck?
