Vitol warns on LNG production shut-ins

It looks like Vitol does not run liquefaction plants. Because those beasts are not switch on, switch off. When trains are stopped for maintenance and things are warmed up, the best of the best are there on high alert as things might go wrong and when it does, thermal stress damages things beyond repair. Every harier is the startup of the train. Its a safe procedure today and a professional team will do this no questions asked. But try suggesting them that they need to go through a ramp down, ramp up because some traders said that’s a good idea. The financial risk is simply not worth it. Not for some months. Or even a year.
