We still need coal to ensure power grid reliability
Most people don’t appreciate the flickery nature of wind and solar energy. Those half-informed seem to think that its oof and on energy. When it is not. Power produced varies every minute, every second. Every tiny variation in windspeed or sunshine produces different figures and this ragtag jumble of flicker sources has to be transformed in some form of stable current. Thats, why it will be impossible to skip sources like coal pretty much forever as this fundamental nature of wind and solar, won’t change, not now not in the future.
