And who is surprised now? Politicians lie – thats their job. If they ever told their constituents what’s real they would instantly lose. I understood that decades ago. I am a minarchist libertarian with a strong anarchic streak. I believe in self-reliance, self-responsibility, and “live and let live”. My convictions are those of a tiny minority. If I ever campaigned on those values I hold, I would be lucky to make 1%. So I either lie or stay out of politics. It’s a politician’s job to lie because we want to hear cute stories and we can’t face reality as it is. Want better politicians, be better people.
