Why I Won’t Sign Onto Climate Leadership Council’s Plan
Nowhere do I see a proposal what other taxes would be reduced in order to account for the extra income for the government. The way this is structured this is a massive tax increase and as the money goes into the sprinkler, the money is going to land predominantly into areas that have nothing to do with climate change. The government machine is fat and unsightly already, it must slim down before taxation can be considered.
Recently, I received a request from Janet Yellen, chair of the Climate Leadership Council, sign the “Economists’ Statement on Carbon Dividends.”
