Any capital intensive project will take a long time of operation until the initial investment can be recouped. Decades are usually the right measuring stick. But we have built an environment with zero certainty that the big regulating eye in the sky will stand by the promises it just made a couple of years earlier. Companies jump through scores of burning hoops administrators place in front of them and spend a lot of money doing so just to see their fully developed project getting the chop by some activist administration. We are suffering from regulatory stasis and an administration that will leave no opportunity to virtue signal out. Even if due process dies on those shores.
