A contentious Russian-led gas pipeline in Europe will soon exist — Here’s why it matters
Why not see it another way. More Russian gas in Europe means that there is more gas in the system allowing for Western Europe to play its flexibility role much better. You can allow your LNG terminals to be used for all kinds of fancy deals if you are certain that pipeline gas won’t fail you. This pipeline is good for LNG. But that’s an economical consideration – not a political one.
