A Marshall Plan for Energy Security

Half of Europe had depended on Russian oil and gas for decades. How has that worked out for the continent? No, Europe will have to get a lot more creative than this. Right now, the unrealistic stary eyed social justice activists think that renewables will do the trick but wind and solar make the mess just worse. Europe will have to look at everything it has. Hydropower, where it makes sense. Shale, if there are interesting reserves to be had and nuclear will have to make a big splashy comeback. But for that to work we need a pragmatic attitude towards regulation, certainty that there will be an industry left worth doing all this for, and most of all we will have to stop looking at imagined problems such as climate change and start working on the real ones.
