Algeria’s rising gas consumption seen posing risk to exports

Do we have another Egypt on the Mediterranean? Egypt on steroids that is. If Algeria must reduce or even stop its gas exports into Europe, countries like Italy would face disaster. Does putting our heads in the sand still work?

Algeria will struggle to keep gas exports at 50 billion cubic feet per year in the medium term unless it curbs rising domestic gas consumption, a government document and top energy official said.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network.
