Another Overstated AI Concern

I have lived through too many panics to be concerned anymore. I was supposed to be annihilated by a nuclear firestorm in the Cold War, dissolved in Acid Rain, irradiated by the Ozone Hole, wiped out by the Millennium Bug, and frozen over by the Big Freeze. I was supposed to be roasted by the climate and squashed by overpopulation and a zillion other things. They all turned out to be duds. We humans seem to need our telenovelas as a reality show. But it’s all crap. I will wait this one out like all the others. But one thing is true – compared to today’s dimwitted activists, even an iPhone appears very intelligent. They should be afraid.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
