Asia LNG Buyers Are Paying a Panama Chokepoint Premium for 2024

The Panama chokepoint means more short-term LNG for Europe. I see an end to the gas dilemma for the continent if Europe is smarter about it. There still is plenty of potential for underground gas storage. Asians would kill for that but their geology does not play ball. Europe could become a market sink for gas volumes and as the transport penalty from the US Gulf Coast to Asia is significant, there is a lot of discount LNG floating by. Time to get busy on underground storage.
