Australian mammal becomes first to go extinct due to climate change

Climate Change is a feature of this planet since its creation almost 5 billion years go. It’s a complex topic but since there is earth, there has never been such a thing as a stable climate. We cannot fight it – we can only adapt and go on. Should we preserve species when we can do so? Absolutely. Our best efforts should go into this. But we must come to terms that there are things at work that we simply cannot control yet. I hope someone had the foresight to take the genome of this little fellow.

A small brown rat which lived on a tiny island off northern Australia is the world’s first mammal known to have become extinct due to “human-induced climate change,” the government says.
