Blame rice for global warming!? ‘Rice is to blame for around 10% of global emissions of methane’ – ‘Rice cannot be ignored’

Wetlands are undoubtedly a big source of methane but there are others. How much methane is generated every day globally and where that comes from is pretty badly understood. I would assume that the oceans emit much more methane than we assume today. Also, measuring methane is very hard as there is so little of it in the air. There is a reason why its values are given in Parts Per Billion as Parts Per Million would look measly. The Earth is a methane generator – much bigger than what we think it is. And the atmosphere is a potent machine to get rid of it. We should get in between those processes and construct our energy infrastructure around them. Methane – energy from nature.
