Imagine you mine for metal and for every 4 kg you get, you have to process 1000 kg and dump 996 kg back down the hole. Can it be done? Sure it can. Is it being done with certain metals? Yes, if they are valuable enough we do that. By that count, CO2 must be extremely valuable. Removing CO2 from the ambient air is not only extremely wasteful and hence expensive. It serves no purpose at all on top.

It appears the reconciliation bill that includes some $370 billion in energy-related spending is going to become law. The measure includes a panoply of tax credits for alternative energy technologies,
