2022 was a special year for me. I have been on the realism bandwagon for a little over a decade now but so far, it has felt very lonely. Not totally alone mind you as there have always been voices much weightier than mine that wanted to bring science and common sense back to the discussion but they were few. And they were usually quickly muzzled. That all changed in 2022 – I can see a lot of discussion on the merits of panic and unstable energy choices even in the Germanophone part of the world. We are nowhere near the tipping point but it’s getting interesting. Alarmism about imagined problems makes place for alarmism about real problems.
