It’s one of the better-known sketches of Monty Python and we all laugh because of the obviousness of the situation. Everyone can see the parrot is dead but the shopkeeper keeps pretending. BUT – it’s happening to all of us in our daily lives. Politicians, leaders of industry and culture, media, and a myriad of others keep repeating and pretending that climate change is an issue that merits trillions to be thrown after and liberties to be abolished while reality stares us in the face and kicks our behinds. And that’s only one example. Why do politicians lie? Because they can. We let them – there are no consequences. We have only ourselves to blame.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
