Deforesting To Save The Planet? Europe’s Forests Shrinking As Wood Used For “Green” Energy

Europe reached peak deforestation about 200 years ago. It was not some kind of conversational instinct that saved the continent’s last forests but it was the advent of the black combustible rock – coal. Suddenly wood did not need to be used for energy anymore. Forests could recover. As soon as wooden ships were replaced with steel ships, wood got a deep break. Environmentalists came long after the forests were already saved. Now we go back to our bad old ways.
