EU Wants Global Gas Sellers to Join Its Matchmaking Platform

Let me guess – they think that such a platform would bring the price of their extreme stupidity down. I have bad news. It won’t – Europes leaders have caused this crisis as they have kissed the Russian czar’s buttocks even after he had clearly shown his intentions more than a decade ago. I once worked for OMV, the biggest company in Austria. When I joined, the Russian part of Austrian gas was around 60%. Right before the start of the war, it was above 90%. Not only were we in a bad dependence situation, but we also made it a lot worse. Supposedly smart constructs such as matchmaking won’t fix that. Only if Europe gets back into the long-term game we can fix this. But that clashes with the nonsensical green rules.
