First French Offshore Wind Farm Fully Functional

Way more than a decade in the past I had dinner with a friend who held an executive position in EDF. We discussed LNG and I asked him straight out why EDF did not put any effort into switching their operations on the Caribbean islands of Guadeloupe and Martinique to LNG as this would have been cheaper than diesel generators. He told me that EDF gets a very juicy subsidy from the french government for their diesel power on those islands. If they demonstrated that it could be done cheaper, the subsidy would be reduced or disappear. When I saw this thing the story came back to my mind.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
