The U.S. Shale Boom Is Officially Over

I have been following the shale revolution for close to 20 years now. I must have read headlines like this one a hundred times. At least this is what it feels like. It’s a bit like the incessant affirmations that fossil (reliable) energy is done and will die out. In the close to two decades, I have watched shale it has always reemerged from any such scenario bigger, stronger, more healthy. Easy oil is over, hauling oil from around the planet has become a liability, and the world needs reliable energy more than ever. It takes years to kickstart a conventional oil project – only weeks for shale. Guess who comes back with a vengeance when prices go higher?
