G2 scraps plans for Louisiana LNG export terminal

LNG project developers are often gamblers. They count on some madness in the market that will entice a buyer to sign up for some outlandish contract that will make their expensive LNG production facility fly. And most of the time, it does not happen. I was always amazed at how many put their livelihood into such projects. Two things would have to be done. First, bring down the cost. There was a time when we aimed at bringing CAPEX down. No more. Very high CAPEX has become the norm and this simply should not be. And secondly, LNG should look at new market opportunities. Sometimes the good is really close.
