The Ukraine invasion is not going to end the renewable scam straight – but it will vastly accelerate the process of death. Countries like Germany and also my own home Austria seem to double down on renewables. They essentially say that more renewables mean less energy from Russia. But that calculation does not hold up as already last year many regions were at capacity limits in terms of what the grid can take. More wind and solar will also require massive backup capacities and those won’t be as cheap as cannibalizing the grid anymore. True costs start to shine through.
