Germany approves law mandating full gas storage before winter
Full gas storage you say. And what happens if someone cannot get enough gas to fill up? Or if filling up can only be done at exorbitant prices? The first thing that’s going to happen is that gas companies will ask the government to cover them for any commercial shortfall they might feel. And if the government does so, the incentive to work in a commercially sensible manner goes out the window. We were better with the monopolies. Now we have commercial players with a safety valve paid for by us. The worst of both worlds.
