Gazprom grabs record share of Europe gas market despite challenges

The real question is “What is going to happen when the gas volumes from the ancient mega fields in Purovsky District start to lose pressure. It was predicted that this would occur around 2022 to 2024. You know the drill. Once the pressure drops its game over pretty quick. And those fields still provide most of the gas coming from Russia. Yamal is nowhere near replacing them yet. Will be fun to watch if the 35% holds up then.

Russia’s Gazprom increased its share of the European gas market last year despite a rising challenge from imports of U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG), company officials told investors in Hong Kong on Tuesday.
