German firm eyes Nigerian LNG supplies

Flare gas (aka waste) gets used for a sellable product that others want. Energy security in Europe gets boosted. What’s not to like? The only blemish I can make out is potentially questionable economics. A small project like this has essentially two options, none of which is very attractive. Either they build very large LNG storage tanks to fill conventional LNG carriers to keep transport costs down. This will be a pretty hard CAPEX item to take care of. Or they force their cargo into smaller ships which will make transport very financially dear.
