Is “Degrowth” The New Green Growth?

Yeah sure, the next buzzword. Pretty much all of my readers know what I think of this mumbo jumbo. But just hold it for a second. Because the term growth is truly problematic in a much deeper sense. Much of what we call growth today is bogus. It’s a KPI based, detached from the conditions on the ground in the real world BS term. We need economies that serve the needs of normal people. In a more healthy economy that financial mumbo jumbo would take a backseat. Ideally it would matter very little. But in our world, the real economy does not matter and financial crap is everything. We don’t need degrowth as it’s just another BS term. Just as we don’t need the kind of growth that was shoved down our collective throats for pretty much our entire lives.
