Is the World Overbuilding LNG Capacity?

Oh yes, it is as usual I might add. LNG terminals and their value chains are very expensive and take a lot of time to plan, design, build, and commission so if you have an idea for a project today, you often are a decade or more from production. Markets go up and down much faster than that so you can’t build to match market demand ever but project promoters must use an uptick in the market to get their volumes sold to someone creditworthy as otherwise financing becomes impossible. It’s a dance on the rim of a volcano. We have overbuilt LNG many times and it always got soaked up in the end so more was needed. LNG will be fine.
