It Will Take 200 Years for the Chinese Yuan to Replace the US Dollar — By Then, China May Not Exist

It must be 20 years now that we are being told about the imminent takeover of the Yuan as the dominant world reserve currency and yet, we are nowhere near that. Like all those predictions of Climate Catastrophes and the Year 2000 bug. The US Dollar is not unassailable in its dominant position but for that to happen one would need a currency that wants to float freely and globally. The Chinese government uses the Yuan as a tool and tightly manages its development. Does that give you any confidence in its value and traceability? The US Dollar will remain the de facto world reserve currency for my generation and potentially for anyone alive today.

By the year 2300, the population of China has been projected to be around 40 million people. But 40 million is not a large enough population to support a global empire. China will be overrun…
