A natural evolution. Coal made the industrial revolutions possible as for the first time it provided on-demand high-quality energy and made man independent from the vagaries of nature. Oil enabled modern logistics as the internal combustion engine made vehicles of any size possible interconnecting the planet in unknown ways. Natural Gas made all those things truly clean and created an abundance few thought possible. Every step was technologically more sophisticated and made us all better off. Wind and solar are a step back into the old, horrible times. The rein of Natural Gas has just begun.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
