Opposition movements must go grassroots to really succeed. This takes time and most of all, it takes the average masses to understand what is being done to them. This will only happen if pain is produced and laid on them. But much opposition also digs into the deep realms of unspecified fears. When the fear of losing what one has not taken precedence over a fear of losing something in some far-fetched future, the “here-and-now” usually wins. Renewable developers are blind and deaf – they want to get their green money. No matter the consequences. That will be their undoing.

I was introduced to and met Rudi in Angola when he started to develop his Sub Saharan Africa network. At the time he worked for EconGas/OMV and he tried organizing longterm LNG supply for them under the unlikeliest of all circumstances.
