The cost of subsidizing renewable energy is indeed crushing – which is funny considering that this is the cheapest energy on the market according to their promoters. But the subsidy mountain is not everything there is. There is also the monumental systemic cost of giving renewable energy preferential treatment at the network level as well as free balancing services for their highly interruptible power. Thats in our energy bills plus the much higher general price for energy that is mainly being caused by those flicker sources as well. We pay a lot more than even this letter suggests.
